15 Wondrous Backwater Resorts In Kerala For A Pampered Holiday In 2022!

After exploring the beauty of Munnar, we headed to Thekkady on the fourth day of our trip. We stayed here only for a night at Hotel Spice Grove. A whole day here was enough for us to visit the medicinal garden, and coffee and cardamom plantations . Our visit here was quite insightful as we were nicely informed about the usefulness of these plants. Also, one of the most cherished memories of our trip was lived here as it was Valentine’s Day. My wife Chitra and I took an elephant ride and the keeper treated us like we were newlyweds. We were all red with happiness. But what made our day even better was the Kathakali dance show. The experience was mesmerizing!

Best Of Shopping In Kerala In 2022: What To Buy And Where

The next morning, we headed to Kumarakom where we stayed at the Waterscapes KTDC Backwater Resort. Honestly, we travel every year, both abroad and within India, but I’ve never witnessed such a unique accommodation anywhere. The location of the resort was not only excellent, but breathtaking as the houses were built upon the canals. Staying here for just a day was too less, because this is undoubtedly one of the most unique places to stay in Kerala.

Day 6: A Memorable Stay in the Houseboat

    Alleppey Sunset View

On the 6th day of our trip, we drove to Alleppey. This was the first time that we were going to stay in a moving houseboat and so the excitement was at its peak. The moment we reached there, we were more than satisfied. The houseboat seemed like a home away from home. It had four rooms, ACs, a TV, music system, and was beautifully decorated. It felt like it was made just for our group. If you’re also looking for great places to stay in Kerala, look no more. At stay here is worth experiencing! We spent the day witnessing the beauty of the backwaters, listening to the chirping birds, and indulging in local food. There couldn’t have been a better way to get closer to the nature than this!

To top it all, we were surprised with a birthday cake for our daughter’s birthday. We wanted to celebrate it amongst ourselves on the boat, but had no idea that Sudeesh, our local agent from Travelius will make it so special. It was a wow moment for us!

Day 7 and 8: Exploring Cochin Like The Locals

    Things to do cochin

While the weather was a bit warm in Cochin, we had enough energy mustered up to explore the city. We spent time at the beach, went for fishing and boating, explored the palaces, and tried out some local cuisines. It was a day well spent! At the night, we came back to our hotel, the Cochin Palace and called it a day. The next day, we were ready with our bags to leave for the airport.

All in all, it was an impeccable experience. All the resorts or hotels that we stayed at had amazing hospitality and were well-maintained. And believe me, there were no low points in our trip. If I had to recall the most amazing moment, it would be the time we spent at The Munnar Resort and the special treatment we received. They had prepared exclusive fasting meals for some of us, and it was heart touching.
